Erin Joyce hates having to explain herself in a Bio because her experience doesn't fit perfectly into labels. She is a creative thinker, content producer, strategist and lover of well-executed branded content and advertising. With well over a decade of experience creating digital content for brands, she thrives on big ideas that are infused with culture. Erin has led creative teams at Showtime, Twitch and Google and is currently #OpenToWork!
Up until very recently she was employed at Google as the Global Creative Lead and Head of the Americas. In this role I lead a team of 10 Creative Directors and Insights Managers who educated Google’s largest global advertisers on how to build more effective content for the Google ecosystem. Using Google’s data, research and best practices, she coached clients like Apple on how to build performance creative specifically by marketing objective. Ask her about it, it’s wild!
Prior to Google, Erin was the most senior Creative in Twitch's branded content studio, leading a 24 person international team of creatives who help brands achieve their marketing goals through the power of the Twitch platform. On any given day she could be found brainstorming breakthrough ideas with clients, educating the industry on the importance of having a gaming strategy, analyzing fresh insights on the ever-fascinating Gen-Z cohort or preaching the magic of the Twitch platform to anyone who will listen.
Erin honed her craft at Showtime Networks as the Creative Director of Multiplatform Content where she led creative direction for social and emerging content across platform. Working alongside series showrunners, writers, and producers, she’s developed digital extensions of popular TV series such as Weeds, Dexter, Shameless, Homeland and Ray Donovan. While primarily focused on short-form shareable video production, she has also produced long-form platform-agnostic content for the network including “House of Lies LIVE” a 30 minute improv comedy special featuring Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell, which made network history as the first-ever original production to debut on Youtube before the linear feed.
Her work has received recognition from various industry organizations (in detail below). She holds an M.S. in Media Innovation from Ithaca College and a B.S. in Marketing from Fairfield University. She explored her fascination with creator culture in her graduate thesis "MCN's, The Rise of Digital Talent, and the Future of Entertainment." Ask her about it, she can jam on Influencer culture and generational cohorts relationship to media for hours!
